In my 21 years of existence, I have identified some rather disturbing "minor" flaws that US FILIPINOS are experiencing:

1. People are continually and senselessly buying the latest camera phones. (Even those that are built for businessmen...)

---Today's students are so pathetic. In my current school, they'd lie to their parents about their tuition fees and make FAKE assessment forms indicating the huge, huge, huge amount of the payment to gain kick-backs...
--- Filipinos would always whine about being poor and money-less. See their cell phones??? They're worth more than 10,000 bucks! How ironic.
--- In a mall, majority of the people are usually inside a cell phone store... to buy phones? To swap 'em into newer ones? To doll up their phones? Well whatever they're doing inside, they're totally wasting money.
--- CELLPHONES = a necessity? ..well get a load of this: GET A LIFE! Where is the value of the word "necessity" when all you'd think of is registering to the unlimited calls, and before you know it, your phone's battery has run out for an emergency.
--- After buying a phone, newer ones arrive relentlessly. Ads in newspapers, televisions, or even buses or leaflets... people are seen with sparkling eyes, drooling over those pictures.
--- STOLEN PHONES ------> "haaaaaay! Buti nga sayo... of course, you'll buy a new one right? An advantage for you, you knucklehead"

2. Filipinos are really into music.

NOON: Sentimental old songs, R&B, Hiphop
NGAYON: Motherfuckers! Please don't turn the word "rock" into "suck"!!

--- Whatever's "in"... yeah! They like it! It's okay to make mankind happy, or totally rad... but speaking of individuality? Man, they've totally lost it.
--- Since the LATEST genre of today's generation is rock... ***fart n barf*** girls and boys adapted the punk fashion, so as to be called ROCKERS. Well... ask them this: "Enumerate 50 kick-ass bands that you know". They'd answer: "Linkin Park, Simple Plan, Slapshock, Sugarfree, Spongecola, Kitchie Nadal???, Parokya Ni Edgar.. aaahhhmmm... cno pa ba..." Get this, these bands are too mainstream. They almost get pop-ish. Pop, (like how bubbles become pretty and then suddenly pops out in a small amount of time) never lasts. Other questions to be asked... can you play an instrument or can you sing? Enumerate all the subgenres of rock... hehe
---Take note: Liking music is like believing something that your soul rides on to. What's that?? YOU SHOULD KNOW BETTER.
---Be true to what you're really into... and keep it yours! You'll enjoy it!

3. There even IS a latest job.

--- As I've said above: where has individuality gone? Since our country flops like a stinking poo fish, whatever is in demand, woah! Animals would come rushing to this college course! Disregarding what they really want in college, parents are pushing their kids really hard on this. Consider this, how can a child excel in something they... actually find insufferable? Example, a kid who loves the computer was pushed into nursing school. Someone's love for innards and anatomy turns out to be enrolled in a computer course??
---I'm a nursing student. I shifted to this lane because I flunked my subsequent Medical Technology course. See my point? I really dreamed of being in the medical field. Not because of the demands abroad... money. That never came into my mind. All I want is to work in a good hospital, do whatever it is that I LIKE. Concentrating on the word DOLLAR only makes you materialistic and jump into conclusions that'll turn out bad in the end.
--- To whoever may read this... CHOOSE ACCORDING TO YOUR LIKING. You may end up in an unstable, temporary work suck as... I mean such as... being in a call center.
---Okay, okay. Money is of great deal for us Filipinos in this age of turmoil, but stop thinking about money and just get ahead of what you are really into! "MONEY is the root of all evils" as the saying goes... never dream of having it if you'll only mess up your future career. Finding out in the end that what you're doing is just not what you really wanted after all.

>>>These really caught my attention and got me thinking. If any of these are altered and brought back to what they were, I think our country will be a better place... :)

>>>Do you think that guns were shooting right at your chest while reading this? You can't blame me, this is according to MY OPINION. Maybe it's just time for you to see this freaking reality and change for the betterment of... well... yourself. :)
